Best Practices

This part of the web-site is dedicated to highlighting the good work and best practices that occur in the community colleges throughout the state. This site has been populated with some initial best practices occurring in the community colleges. The hope is that each college will be able to share one of their best practices with their colleagues. All of us benefit when we share the good work that goes on throughout our state.

2005 Best Practice Series


best practices video best practices transcript Wayne County Community College District is excited about the creation of their Emergency Training Complex. This complex, when completed, will provide Homeland Security, Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS and Industrial emergency response education. This unique 10 acre site will be part of the DownRiver Campus and is expected to attract national interest in emergency preparedness and response training. Wayne County Community College District anxiously awaits the completion of the site and is planning to be operational by the end of 2005.

This project involves assisting community members to successfully pass their GED, apply and transition from the community location on Wealthy Street to the main campus in downtown Grand Rapids. They have achieved high results with their initial group of students and plan on expanding this service to other parts of the Grand Rapids Community.
