Description/Definition:
The proportion of a sample of regional employers in a given field indicating that their employees who received training from the community college exhibit skills and job performance at rates equivalent or superior to all employees.
Methodology and Data Sources:
The population for Employer Satisfaction includes representatives from only those firms which employ graduates (degree or certificate) from the College.
Employer Satisfaction will be measured using items on a "Poor" to "Excellent" scale. Employers will be asked to respond to questions relating to currency of College programs, satisfaction with knowledge and skills of College completers, and overall rating of College completers as employees.
Reporting Periods/Timelines:
Surveys will be conducted and reported on a biennial basis.
Special Conditions/Issues:
Identifying the employers of community college graduates and connecting with the correct person in the organization to knowledgeably comment on satisfaction as it relates to the college in questions may be difficult. If a direct link between employee and employer is desired, obtaining student information and confidentiality of that information are concerns.
