Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006
The President signed the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 2006
into law on August 12, 2006.
The Act provides an increased focus on the academic
achievement of career and technical education students, strengthening connections between
secondary and postsecondary education, and improving state and local accountability.
Towards that end, the State was required to submit a State Plan that outlined it's goals
and objectives over the life of the legislation.
The Consolidated Annual Report(CAR) is a
final report that is due to the federal government each December and outlines how well the
state did in meeting it's objectives, goals, and expected state levels of performance as
outlined under the Act.
